New Laspa Center Grant Will Fund Student-Led COVID-19 Relief Efforts
桃子视频 Laspa Center for Leadership has introduced its 2020 Community Action Grant for current 桃子视频 students. Awarded in amounts between $250 to $2,000, the grant will support projects that help students鈥 hometown communities better cope with the impact of COVID-19.

Using activist theater, the 鈥淚deal Woman鈥 workshop explored women鈥檚 traditional and cultural roles in their communities. By the end of the workshop, armed with newfound confidence and creative props they鈥檇 made from nature, her students performed a five-act play which tackled issues they faced in their day-to-day lives, from navigating difficult relationships with their fathers to not being allowed to play sports with their male classmates.

Laspa Center for Leadership Executive Director Vicki Klopsch spoke to the Chronicle of Higher Education about Scripps鈥 financial literacy sessions. The Linda Davis Taylor Financial Literacy Program, organized by Laspa, is facilitated by Scripps alumnae who discuss topics such as budgeting, salary negotiations, credit, and loans.
