Eight senior studio art majors will present their thesis work from May 2 through May 18 at the Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery. The exhibit focuses primarily on two arenas in contemporary art: mixed media installations and hand-drawn graphic novels. There will be an opening reception on Friday, May 2, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Scripps seniors Tammy Coleman, Claire Cronin, Kari Gladfelder, Mina Hoffman, Lisa Nowlain, Rachel Raleigh, Nisa Schoonhoven, and Elle Wyant planned, installed, and prepared the show themselves. Their works address a variety of topics, including cyber communication, whiteness, and explorations of the lines between life and death.
The reception will include live music and refreshments. Ruth Chandler Williamson Gallery is free of charge and open to the public from Wednesday through Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please contact (909) 607-3397 or (909) 607-4690.
