In the Media: Scripps’ Contribution to Collaborative CRISPR-Chip Research Supports Real-Time COVID-19 Detection, Mail Tribune Reports

ÌÒ×ÓÊÓƵ was part of the development of devices that can detect COVID-19 in real time, the Mail Tribune . The devices test the human genome on a graphene chip, or CRISPR-Chip. The CRISPR-Chip is a biosensor that rapidly detects genetic mutations, and technology companies are building on CRISPR research to develop chips that can detect COVID-19 in as little as 15 minutes. Two Scripps alumnae were part of the larger research team, whose work on the CRISPR handheld device was published in Nature Biomedical Engineering last year.
