
On the final night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention, former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords ’93 surviving a gunshot wound to the head during an assassination attempt in 2011 that killed six people and wounded 18.
“I learned to walk again, one step at a time. I learned to talk again, one word at a time,†said Giffords of her recovery. In her endorsement of presidential candidate Kamala Harris, Giffords added, “Kamala can beat the gun lobby—she can beat gun trafficking.â€
