Dear Students,
I write today to address many of concerns regarding the uptick in COVID-19 cases across the Claremont Colleges. Currently, at Scripps we have 3 positive cases. Though our cases remain lower than some of the other colleges, it is imperative that we remain ever vigilant. We know that COVID is highly transmissible and that protections from the vaccine wane over time.聽As I reminded students on November 30th, the COVID-19 booster is an important step in protecting yourself and others. Students are strongly encouraged to get the booster before traveling for the winter break.
As we approach finals, winter break, and anticipated travel for the holidays, I urge all students to continue to do your part. Work diligently to minimize your exposure. Wear a mask during any close interactions with others. Masking is required when indoors at all times except when in a student鈥檚 individual residence hall room, suite, or apartment. It is strongly encouraged for all students to wear a mask outside when distancing is not achievable. Encourage your friends to do the same! This is how we take care of each other and our community in efforts to keep our transmission rates low. For more information, please visit .
As we head into finals week, I know the uptick in COVID-19 cases may cause an added layer of stress. Know there are many available to you. Please do not hesitate to reach out! I wish each and every one of you good luck as you close this semester. Wear your mask and do all you can to stay safe!
